Summary
After taking a year out from competitive cycling to recover from Glandular Fever, Pete Vincent (Mid-Devon CC) put in a sterling performance over the undulating and testing 16 mile course situated near Torpoint, Cornwall and in the process set a new course record, improving it by a further 30 seconds. Looking lean and fit, the North Devon based 22 year old put in 38 seconds over second placed Sean Childs (RNRMCA) who was riding his home course. All Rounder Childs is currently preparing for the National 24hr and 12hr Champs. A further 45 seconds back was 1st Category Roadman James Smith (ProBikeKit.com), who is also based at HMS RALEIGH and known for putting in some good times against the clock with stalwart Simon Edney (North Devon Wheelers) in 4th. Edney was the fastest veteran on the day and also took Cat B award from Mark Sanders (Mid Devon CC). The Cat B award was won Andy Hitchens (Mid Devon CC) from home based rider Stuart Edwards (RNRMCA) with Rod Stewart (Tavistock CC) taking the Cat C honours. Emily Adkin (Okehampton CC) took another ladies win to add to her impressive tally for this season.

Navy Weekender Trophy To be awarded to the competitor with the best aggregate time, taken from both the RNRMCA 2 Up TTT on 26 May 10 and this event:
1st Sean Childs (RNRMCA) 1.16.43 2nd James Smith (ProBikeKit.com) 1.16.48 3rd Simon Edney (North Devon Whs) 1.18.39 Thank You A very big thank you to Captain Murdoch, who not only agreed to let us use HMS RALEIGH’s facilities as the HQ, but he also presented the prizes on completion. The organisation as usual was slick and that is a credit to the organisers Karl Kennett and George Wright who were a major asset throughout. A special mention should go to the Instructors and Phase 2 Rcts from RALEIGH who provided cover as marshals and again Mark Gorman (Tavistock Whs) and Mike Brewer (Plymouth Corinthian CC) who were exceptional in their roles as Timekeepers. That man Stuart Edwards yet again provided excellent pastries and the Main Gate Staff were as slick and professional as ever allowing ease of access into the establishment for all competitors and supporters.
