Sunday 28th July saw the third running of the annual Dartmoor Classic Sportive Ride across Dartmoor. West Country RNRMCA riders were out in force for this challenging ride.
Sportive Rides continue to be popular throughout the UK and form some of the best mass participation events for the budding cyclist. With a variety of distances to choose from and a guarantee of some friendly company along the way there has never been a better way to challenge yourself whilst working out and meeting new friends.
The Dartmoor classic has continued to grow in the 3 years it has run. This years event sold out in no time and members from the RNRMCA were there in numbers to fly the flag. With 2 distances to choose from either 101 miles or 64 miles riders were set a challenge. The moors can be an unforgiving place with some long climbs and exposed stretches letting riders feel the full effects of the wind.
