MTB Looking Ahead to 2012 Print

1.              Looking ahead.  I hope to continue to make more off road riders aware of the RNRMCA by continued representation at local events and more of the endurance based event.

a.              OSMM.  LAET Manchester is leading with Mayhem in 2012 and it’s hoped to have sufficient riders to select an A and B team.

b.              RNRMCA XC Champs.  After a years absence it’s back at Woodbury on 2 May with Major Plewes leading the planning.

c.              I/S XC Champs.  RAFCA will host I/S XC Champs in 2012, likely to be hosted by the Shred Events team again and possibly be held in Plymouth in late Sept.

d.              Continue to build up relations with RAFCA.  As well as early liaison WRT the I/S Champs, an approach has been made to their DH rep suggesting greater collaboration with their association with RAFCA taking the lead on DH with perhaps the RNRMCA taking the lead on Solo Endurance racing.

2.              Elite Rider Funding.  The Executive Committee meeting agreed elite rider funding grant of £800 per discipline with responsibility for allocation resting with the Individual Discipline Secretary.  The following will be the criteria under which riders representing the RNRMCA at off road cycling events may claim funds. All funds will be paid out retrospectively at the end of the season but before that year’s AGM.

3.              Eligibility for additional funding.

e.              Competing at National/International Level in any off road cycling discipline.

4.               Type of expenditure that would be considered for reimbursement:

f.                Competition Licence.

g.              Entry to appropriate events.

h.              Travel costs for non rec travel events1.

5.              To be eligible for retrospective funding the riders shall:

i.                Agree to a defined race calendar.

j.                Make every effort to attend RNRM Champs, I/S and Command Novice events.

k.              Blog/write regular race reports for website and Navy News2.

l.                Be an ambassador for the Association, a friendly face/POC at regional events for novice riders.

6.              All eligible riders are to submit race calendars to the MTB Sec by 18 Mar each year.  Grant applications are to be submitted by 15 Oct.  All grant applications will be accessed3 and successful applicants notified by 1 Nov.
