Collingwood Showcases RNRMCA

Four willing volunteers attended the recent event at HMS Collingwood to sing the praises of RNRMCA and spread the word to the phase 2 recruits and career course ratings.

Steve McCulley, Andy Phipps, Phil Hobby and Simon Paget hosted the Royal Navy and Royal Marines Cycling Association’s stand at the HMS Collingwood Sports and Amenities Showcase (formerly known as a Fresher’s Fayre) on 27 Apr 10. 

 The event took place in Marlborough Building and not the traditional venue of the Gymnasium.  There was a steady stream of interest in the 6 cycles on display during the 3 hour event and all things pertaining to the sport.
It was hoped the change of location would entice those who have a phobia of the gymnasium out of their offices and take the opportunity to investigate what’s on offer to members of the Service.  The organisers were not disappointed and from a cycling perspective there was a good level of interest shown.
