Following the clubs unprecedented success in long distance time trialling a former club champion has kindly fwd some photographs from his days representing the Royal Navy in cycle sport.

 

 

 

 

Former CPO SA Owen Bryce 1953 - 1976 recently contacted the club to congratulate the time trial team on their success during this season. Owen a former 24 hour champion held the record for 24 hours with a cracking distance of 419 miles. Owen recalls his record was soon broken by a Marine called Steve Parker but doesn't have any more details. So if this is your era then drop a line to the webmaster today and start filling in the gaps from the RNCA's glorious past.

The picture above shows Owen "struggling up a hill" on a Dartmoor road race in 1963. Below Owen can be seen with other RNCA riders being presented to the Mayor at the start of the Onchan Cup on the Isle of Man in 64.
